About Streams

Building a Healthier Neighborhood Through Programs and Relationships

Love to Heal

Our Mission

To demonstrate the love of Jesus through programs and relationships that build a healthier neighborhood.

Uncompromising Growth

Our Vision

To be the hub of a vibrant, growing, empowering community where neighbors are committed to the growth of each person while maintaining our uncompromised values and love for Jesus.

Development From Within

Our Values

Equity, respect, and dignity. Community development from within. Courageous relationship building.

Love Wholly

Our Difference

We love like Jesus loved. We are wholly invested in our community.

“This group of workers couldn’t be more kind and compassionate. Never been treated like I don’t count as much as the helpers. That is a blessing, and so are all the people that help here.”

Good Stewardship

Our Financials

Streams is committed to being good stewards of our resources.

Our neighborhood

The Townline area of southern Kent County is home to a resilient population—families who work hard to provide for their children and want to make their neighborhood a safe, thriving area.

However, it is a severely under-resourced community that faces significant barriers to overall health and wellness. Within a one-mile radius of our campus there are over 20 different apartment complexes and mobile home parks.

Our community has needs that far outweigh the resources of one person or organization, so we use existing resources and create new partnerships to create healthier schools, families, and neighborhoods. We are blessed with a 6-acre campus that houses our Food Center, Health Center, community garden, offices, and recreation space for programs right in the heart of our neighborhood.

92%

of families in the Townline neighborhood are eligible for federal assistance

60

languages are spoken by families of students in the local school system

42%

of area school children live in poverty, compared to just 10% in Kent County overall

47%

of our neighbors speak English as a second language

20%

of our neighbors are food insecure
